Prince Charles demands food waste to be sustainable

June 1st, 2010 - Posted in News

Prince Charles stated “In this country we waste 10 billion quid’s worth of food every year – wasted. Is that really a sensible system at the end of the day? I don’t think so.”

When visiting the Organic Research Centre in Berkshire recently, for the 30th anniversary of it’s opening, the outspoken Prince hailed organic farming as a means to feed the world.

Although not mentioning the word “recycling” it was muted that more had to be done for the world to be sustainable. In the UK most food waste is created by residential waste streams which are generally handled by local Council collections but it is the increasing amount of commercial and business food waste that is generated that is also a cause for concern.

Eco Food Recycling provide a commercial food waste collection service in Bournemouth,Poole,Christchurch,Ringwood,Wimborne and surrounding area’s whereby all food waste collected is 100% recycled.
