Australia has launched a New South Wales State Government campaign “Love Food Hate Waste” in a bid to reduce food waste in the business and residential sectors.
Australian Environment Minister Frank Sartor launched the scheme on May 3rd in a bid to reduce the amount of commercial food waste and residential food waste that is taken to landfill sites. Food waste that ends up in landfill converts the methane. Methane has been tested at 25 times more powerful than carbon dioxide, and is one of the most harmful greenhouse gases.
The Love Food Hate Waste campaign, said Mr Sartor, aims to help NSW move towards 2014 targets for waste reduction.
Food Waste Management is paramount to reduce greenhouse gas and the need for food waste recycling is just as important in the UK as it is in Australia.
Eco Food Recycling operate a commercial food waste collection service in the Bourenemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Ringwood and Wimborne area’s where all commercial food waste collected is 100% recycled.
